Question

Hello, I just want to ask if it is possible to use GPSTk for computing azimuth/elevation values from precise ephemerides files for a given position of a GPS receiver in an interval of 30s or similar? Or GPSTk can only compute those values from RINEX navigation files in time intervals corresponding to such a file?

If not, can You please recommend mi some application or way how to do this?

Thank You, Michal Kacmarik.

Michal,

In the GPSTk's Rinextools, ResCor will do this, then with RinexDump you can dump the values into a flat square table:

ResCor --obs inputobsfile --out outputobsfile --eph sp3file,sp3file --AO EL --AO AZ--RxXYZ RxX,Y,Z
RinexDump outputobsfile AZ EL

Hope this helps. Please let us know if this answers your issue.

Thank You. Can You please write here a concrete example of such a command? What do You mean with inputobsfile? => a Rinex observation file?

Thank YOu, Michal.

Michal,

Apologies for the delayed response, I went out of town around the time of your question. To get more descriptive info on use of ResCor (if you haven't already found it), there is a User's Guide on the GPSTk support site, accessible via link on the left side of the page. Documentation on ResCor and other GPSTk applications is there. If you find what you're looking for there, please let us know. If not, let us know what you still need to know and we will attempt to clarify.

Best Regards,
